Enameled metal pin from a series honoring National Historic Preservation Month. The Heritage Park Plaza, also known as Heritage Plaza or Heritage Park Overlook or Upper Heritage Park, in Fort Worth, Texas is a Modernist style park that was designed by Lawrence Halprin. The listed area is a 1/2 acre portion of the 112-acre Heritage Park. Fort Worth Circle artist Evaline Sellors designed the bas-relief panels. Designed in 1976 by internationally renowned landscape architect Lawrence Halprin, and opened in 1979, this sophisticated plaza was fenced off in 2008 due to vandalismand limited funding for mainenance. HFW funded a National Register nomination that placed the Plaza on the National Register at the national level of significance and fundraising is underway to reopen the Plaza.
